Brief Summary :

On the occasion of World Heart Day, Dr. Pawan Gupta Founder, Innovative Cancer Care and Rehabilitation (ICanCaRe) a startup company working in the field of tobacco deaddiction, organized a national live webinar “Use Heart to Beat Tobacco – the 2AR Way” for cardiologists to deliberate on the rising CVDs and heart diseases in the country and discuss on measures to mitigate the same. More than 1000 participants from across the country participated in this event on various social media platforms.

Eminent and prolific cardiologists from across the country were invited to discuss on the root causes of the rising prevalence of heart diseases among the people in the country. The panelist of doctors raised a common opinion that tobacco and smoking causes plethora of heart diseases including coronary artery disease, heat failure, carotid and cerebrovascular disease, peripheral and aortic disease, arrythmia.

They emphasized that such heart diseases can be prevented by quitting tobacco early and commended ICanCaRe’s work for building a digital platform in form of an App where tobacco addicts can seek assistance for deaddiction. They also urged the doctors of the country to make use of the ICanCaRe App freely available on the play store.

Senior cardiologist Dr. T. S. Kler, Padma Bhushan awardee and Chairman, PSRI Heart Institute accentuated the need of education about tobacco cessation for patients so that they can quit before severe damages.
