Brief Summary :

Event was conducted at Kolhapur Cancer Centre at 4pm. The event was officially inaugurated by Mayor of Kolhapur Municipal Corporation by 'watering the plant'. Dr. Suraj Pawar welcomed all guests which included newly diagnosed oral cancer patients, some patients with on-going treatment and many head neck cancer survivors. He stressed on rising incidence, implication of tobacco in it, available treatment options and future trends for general public.

Dr. Sheetal Patil gave a talk on Stress Management.

Following this was an interactive panel discussion which included dietician Surabhi Luktuke, Psychiatrist Dr. Sneha Harshe, Radiation Oncologists Dr. Yogesh Anap, Dr. Prasad Tanawade and Head and Neck Surgeon Dr. Gautam Purohit moderated by Dr. Parag Watve. In this session, common problems were discussed by faculty and simple practical solutions were suggested. 

The mayor inaugurated a newly started library for cancer patients visiting KCC. 

5 cancer survivors were felicitated for their contribution and all of them shared experiences of their journey from cancer diagnosis back to the normal lives which was inspiring to many patients and spreading positivity around.
