The workshop to commemorate World Head and Neck Cancer day held at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa from 26-27 July was a success. These dates were chosen specifically to correspond with 27th July which was nominated as World Head and Neck Cancer Day. The event saw about 91 participants taking part. Those invited included Specialists, Radiation Oncologists, Head & Neck Surgeons, Registrars, Medical Physicists, Medical officers, Radiation Therapists and Oncology Nurses. The workshop focused on all the management aspects of head and neck cancers from prevention, pathology, radiation therapy, chemotherapy for cure and palliative care.
